The Solar System at a Glance

Analysis of solar wind data provided by NOAAs DSCOVR satellite reveals a minor disturbance of unknown origin propagating through the solar wind. Field strength peaked at 9 nT and Bz underwent periodic southward deviations, some of which were in excess of -5 nT. Wind speeds were generally steady, averaging around 390 km/s. The phi angle was oriented towards the Sun (negative) for most of the day, but became more variable by days end.

There is a 15% chance of solar activity, with a 1% chance of a minor event, a 1% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
